Conversations from the Yellow Chair Vlog 002 Part 2 HOW TO CHOOSE A THERAPIST

Welcome to Conversations from the Yellow Chair! This video is part 2 of a 3 part series- How to Choose a Therapist with host, Andrea Bryk (owner-director Waves of Harmony) and Greg Roberts (PhD, owner-director Grief and Trauma Support).

Parts of the discussion will focus on defining group therapy, group support, and individual therapy and potential benefits of each. Some of the discussion will focus on specific types of therapy and a range of modalities that you might investigate when seeking a therapist. Practical guidance is provided to assist in searching online.

Some questions for consideration include, What are the costs? How far do I want to travel or is Telehealth ok, What level of support is needed? What style of therapy resonates with me? What aspects of my life are in need of support? What are my primary needs right now (reassurance, validation, nurturing, guidance)? What are my intentions/goals? What are my expectations from the therapist?

***Take the opportunity to listen to Andrea Bryk's guided meditation focusing on aspects of seeking a type of therapy and therapist: https://on.soundcloud.com/ssTFGYG2YCohK7999

The purpose of these conversations is to generate open and constructive discussion about holistic therapy with the wider community. We speak openly about topics relevant at the time of recording. We look forward to your support by engaging in comments and sharing! Enjoy~
